What's a shame?  If you think the bug's languished then post some
followups in bugzilla as to why and why it's important.  If you can't
inspire anyone there to run with the bug then submit a freaking patch.

It's not like this is a closed source product where you have no
recourse but to whine to enhancements@macrobloat.com.
