Good question. My plan here is that the polling process will
fetch the RSS and plug in all available info including the
title , and that the Reviewer will be responsible for 
checking this and then adding more info as needed.

This "aliasing" is definitely an issue. I've been maintaining
an "alias list" for Headline Viewer at
http://www.vertexdev.com/ext_aliases.xml . This list is 
generated semi-automatically -- I have a program to identify
candidate aliases, which I then review and use to augment
the list. Its tedious and hard, but necessary to maintain a
high quality list. My expectation (no plan yet) is that syndic8
will assist in this process somehow.

BTW, we already have 88 feed submissions from 6 different users.
Not bad for 12 hours!

Jeff, I think you're going to need to add a user entered channel title
field. I've just been looking at the O'Reilly feeds for their own pages.
eg their weblogs at
http://www.oreillynet.com/meerkat/?&c=5209&_fl=rss&t=ALL
All of these feeds have a common <channel>.<title> and
<channel>.<description>. 

I can also see a potential problem if you're indexing on url UNIQUE.
These CGI GET based feeds can be written in several ways depending on
parameter order.
