Indeed, but retain (Webster's: to keep in possession or use, to hold secure
or intact) implies that they only hold on to the intellectual property
rights they already have, not that they're claiming any new ones. If I
understand correctly, their only saying that they own whatever they own,
despite the fact that they're letting you use it. I don't think they're
saying that by signing the agreement you grant them ownership to all
intellectual property rights. Of course, I could be misunderstanding.
