In my article this month in the Harvard Business Review (http://www.hbsp.harvard.edu/products/hbr/mayjun00/R00311.html), I defined syndication as: "The sale of the same good to many customers, who then integrate it with other offerings and redistribute it." To be precise, "sale" is probably too narrow, since you can obviously syndicate information for free.

It's a hard concept to pin down, and this was the best I could come up with. I'd be interested to see if anyone on this list has other ideas.
