BACKGROUND

This program reads XML and text-based "backend" headline syndication files
produced by several hundred producers of
syndicated news content. It gathers up the headlines from
each producer and presents them in a nice scrolling list.
Clicking on a headline opens the full story in your browser.
It is a clean and straightforward way to stay in touch
with the latest news from hundreds of news producers without
spending all day clicking.

Access to over 500 news sites is provided:
       * 171 are built in
       * 288 can be downloaded from the list at UserLand.com
       * 22 can be downloaded from the RSS Maker list
       * 74 can be downloaded from the XMLTree list

The user can add new sites, and the three syndication
lists add more content nearly every day.

In addition to generic text backend files, the following
XML formats are supported:
