They're worth solving, and are actually easily solved with a profile like
RSS 2.0 for Aggregators. (RSS2A)

If Brent, Dare, Luke, the Newzcrawler team, Nick Bradbury, and so on will
just lock themselves in a virtual room and decide what they expect to see in
each RSS 2.0 element, I will rewrite my code to accomodate them. So will
lots of other folks. We need the aggregator folks to step up and take the
debate away from people whose opinions don't really matter all that much in
the first place, self included.

Bloglines will be supporting the Atom format. We don't have a choice. Blogger will only be publishing Atom feeds for their blogs. That's what, 1 million plus feeds? It's not a question of which format's technically better, who's got a better personality, or what the phase of the moon is. If Blogger were to publish feeds using only carrier pidgeons, we'd have to build an aviary. Not giving our users the ability to subscribe to those feeds would be suicide. Of course, we still need to support the other formats, because those won't be going away.
