RSS errors due to template mistakes

Hi all,

There are quite a few feeds out there using old MovableType templates. The ones
that incorrectly used RFC822 styles dates instead of W3CDTF style. Recent
versions of MT have solved this problem. But I'm not suggesting people need to
run out and upgrade as many sites can't/won't do this. What they could do is
just drop in a fresh template.

What's impeding this process, however, is not being able to find contact info
for the feeds. The feeds don't generally have e-mail addresses in them. This
effort to hide from spammers makes it hard to help fix things. That and most of
the websites don't have addresses exposed either.

One idea I've had is to ask them to embed foaf or pgp information in their feeds
and/or websites. This would let them expose only enough information to make it
possible for people they already know/trust to send them info. It's not
foolproof, of course, but it'd be better than plain text listing of addresses.

I'd really like to instigate a process that would help solve this problem. I'm
open to suggestions.
