Syndication Subscription Service

Hi there,

Prompted by the thread on browser/aggregator interaction, I have put together 
a proposal for a general subscription service [1].

It might not satisfy all aggregators and all specialized (per content type) 
handlers, but even though it requires changes to every single page with an 
XML icon or an existing subscription button, it just might work - at least it 
could be a step forward.

Comments and suggestions much appreciated - the disclaimer was added to allow 
for people here to suggest architectural and existential changes...
