RE: [syndication] Thin RSS 1.0 module for syndicating the entirearticle?
Hello List
A while back we had to make a decision to output NITF or NEWS of
godknowswhat, it was taking ages to get
Done.
As an interim decision I was very tempted to use RSS, where I know a few
people who could help,
and try to include the body of the the story is some fiddley way, but
understood there was a 500 character rule so thought that could not be done
Then I asked Julian Bond, who is local to my region (big xml world) one day
midnight out of desperation and he said that a lot of people use rss to
include the body, just ignore the 500 char rule and the trick is done
So our technology developer Markus set off to work and produced an amazing
string of RSS one of which is 9.2 and includes the body, interesting to see
there is a 1.0 I had not heard of. Suppose we need to upgrade already.
Now I understand that on a couple of the lists I was posting to over the
last few months got infested with spies
(I know, they follow me everywhere, and yes I am paranoid) who misuse lists
So I have extended the url to a few friends who may wish to take a peek,
email me if you want to see our little xml masterpiece, of which I am very
proud
I must stress that I bear no credits, other than kicking Markus to get it
done and suggesting some module design
Basics.
Cheers
