Putting Generator in a feed?

Hi all,

What would it take for folks to put something in their feed that indicated
what generated the feed?

It would help to be able to see the program and it's version number.

I ask this as a means to open discussion on fixing feeds.  The Syndic8
project is well on it's way and it's discovering a number of things that are
'broken' in feeds.  Some of them are directly related to the tools being
used to create the feed.  A lot of times it's a default value being left in
place instead of being configured with site specific data (PHP-Nuke among
others).  In other cases it's more severe.

What impact would it have on the various readers if feeds started including
an element for generator?

Yes, this would require doing something 'out of spec' for the RSS-0.9x
feeds.  Unless RSS-0.93 gets resuscitated there's little hope for getting
them to include this data.
