But what ever happened to just using the RSS feed as a teaser or 
pointer to the real stuff?  If you can write good enough copy to get 
me to click and visit your site THEN you can assault my eyeballs with 
your formatted text!!!

ASCII or DIE!!  Well, plain Unicode at least. 

Is there an 'official' flavor of HTML that's just text formatting 
sans tables and the like?
