New version of ext_aliases.xml file is available...

Hello Everyone,

I have just updated the ext_aliases.xml file to reflect changes
and additions to various syndication lists. The file has grown
to 2082 lines, and the number of aliases has grown to 395.

The file can be found at http://www.vertexdev.com/ext_aliases.xml

The file exists to make it possible to recognize aliased 
syndication URLS that ultimately refer to the same root data 
source.

The problem is that there are both direct and indirect routes to 
the data. Also, some sites are syndicating the same content under 
different URLs and/or formats. Sometimes the URLs are wholly different 
and other times they are just slightly different. Sometimes, several
once-distinct sites merge and syndicate the same information under
all of the original URLs.

The file format is very simple. The file contains a bunch of entries 
that look like this:

  <alias>
    <url>http://australia.internet.com/backend/site.jsp</url>
    <url>http://www.linuxtoday.com.au/backend/linuxtoday.jsp</url>
    <url>http://www.e-mediamarketer.com.au/backend/emm.jsp</url>
    <url>http://www.internetstockreport.com.au/backend/ipo.jsp</url>
    <url>http://www.internetstockreport.com.au/backend/isr.jsp</url>
    <url>http://www.internetstockreport.com.au/backend/vc.jsp</url>
  </alias>

Each of the URLs in a single <alias> are effectively aliases for
the sibling URLs, and I consider the siblings as duplicates. There
is no indication that one of the URLs is to be preferred over the 
others.

Feel free to make use of this file to improve the quality of your
syndicated information. If you are using the file, it would be great
