Yesterday I met with OOiptech. Not just their sales-guy :-)
Their story is worth being told:
This is a group of smart developers who saw content
syndication as the way to go several years ago.
They created a rendering engine that utilizes the browser
(DHTML, Java and JavaScript).
The the VCs got to them.....I asked them point blank 'what's up
with the patent pending?'
Answer: 'The VCs liked that, but we hate the whole idea...please
help us!'
Long story short, they aren't married to their technology at all, in
fact it's become a burden for them, as their customers are large
consultancies, who want an 'intranet' application with helpdesks
and more stuff developers are usually not into.
I showed them the XML-RPC cloud userland built and they totally
understand 'our' mission and they are anxious to help us with
our development.
It'll take another round of getting to know them, but this is a case
of cover not revealing the contents of the book.
