RE: [syndication] 0.92 divergence from 0.91

Howdy,

Slashcode 2.x[1], released[2] rather recentlyish, supports both 0.9
(/slashcode.rdf) and 1.0 (/slashcode.rss) -- does the naming strike anyone
else as a little funny :-) -- via the XML::RSS module[3] Jonathan Eisenzopf
created and we both maintain. Jonathan and I worked with Chris Nandor et al
on bringing 1.0 support to Slashcode; RSS is now used throughout Slashcode,
from its Journals (aka Weblogs) to Search, Bug Tracking to (coming soon)
Comments. In fact, there's a Slash module[4] and Chris is working with
RSS-DEV to come up with a threaded discussion module for the comments on
Slashsites.

Slashdot[5] has not yet updated to this latest version of Slashcode (notice
"dot" vs. "code" there) and so does not yet support 1.0; I understand it
should very shortly.

Any site based on Slashcode 2.x has both 0.9 and 1.0 support out of the box.
Just point at http://domain.com/domain.{rdf,rss}. Another example is use
perl;[6]. For a decent list of Slashsites (sites based on Slashcode), see
[7].

Hope that clears up (and doesn't introduce ;-) any confusion.
