RSS Clients

I've been thinking about the need for more clients for RSS.

One of the key ones is some general purpose code to make it easy to
include an RSS feed in a box on a generic website. Similar to the
Moreover Javascript or viewRssBox() on a Manila site. There are a few
instances out there like http://sourceforge.net/projects/rssapplet/

I feel tempted to suggest a small competition for the smallest, neatest,
least intrusive bit of code to do this.

But there's a down side. Many rss generators would be uncomfortable with
the bandwidth effects of lots of sites including their feed on every
page.
