Re: [syndication] some republished feeds

Hi,

I asked once and got the OK. I was asked twice to remove a site:
Ananova, spotted it 2 days after I added the site!! But they
don't have very interesting content anyway.

Two days ago I got a mail from the Financial Times requesting
the sources to be removed. Actually, they don't object to the
fact that I was syndicating the content, but that I was doing
it without asking and that I framed their content: NewsIsFree
offers the option of showing a frame above the original news
page. This provides access to value added tools like email
notification for the news item, easy access to other items in
the source, posting to Blogger, Manila, Radio sites. They
felt that the NewsIsFree logo mislead the user about the
origin of the news item.

I slimmed down the frame and left only the tools:

I deactivated the FT sources for the time being and hope
they will authorize me to reactivate them, understanding that
syndication is a major plus for them.

So basicaly, that's what I do: I add sites without asking,
if requested them I deactivate and try to convince them,
if that fails, I remove the feed completly.

I have no business plan for NewsIsFree, it a personal tool
which somehow got out of hand ;-) I pay $12 a year for the
domain, someone kindly provides hosting for free. It'll last
as I can maintain that (this is not my main job, I do this
in my spare time!)
