RSS Soup (was Re: [syndication] Re: Evangelizing RSS)
I get this question all the time. The best thing to do is deliver the
benefits. Here's the list of the channels I read every hour. I get enough
news, although I wish I could get the NY Times back.

So, imho, RSS is at critical mass now, it's worth using by average Web news
junkies. With enough weblogs in the mix, I end up getting news from many of
the sources that don't provide RSS feeds. A few synthetic Moreover channels
added to the mix (like News.Com) make a big difference too. It's like making
soup, no single ingredient makes or breaks it. But it's important to note,
we're not in waiting for a chicken or egg now. The soup will get better as
it sits on the stove. ;->
Also, imho, the only way the holdouts are going to switch over is if they
feel they're missing something good. So we're working more on the other
side, not the publishing side (where they're scared) but the editorial side,
the reporters generally like the idea. So go where there's less resistance.
