RE: [syndication] Re: New poll for syndication

What kind of argument is this Dave?
Is this mailing list private to some audience?

I do not agree with the RSS-RDF thing at all, mostly because of the
same motives you have been pointing out.

One of the things I disliked was the way that the "RSS 1" authors
arrogantly dismissed any remarks with a "those issues have been
considered" that roughly translates has "we know better what is best
for you".

Your answer to Aaron's posting doesn't get much better than that.

You made a clear insinuation. It is just natural that he replied.

Besides, I see nothing wrong with his "defense" since his posting
even encourages work and discussion. And Aaron has been the most
open and non-unconditional defender of the RSS-RDF thing.

I argued several times against Aaron's POVs on this issue (as he did
against mine) an I never noticed Aaron cutting anyone's speech - not
even with the above mentioned "those issues have been considered".

Now, again, he is not cutting anyone's speech or point of view. He
does not agree with you and - being this a public forum in which he
participates - he replies without trying to cut your argumentation
or telling you to shut up.

But you are telling him to shut up. (Or doesn't "stop interfering"
translate that way?)

The game is not turf split like "RSS-DEV is for the RDF guys and
Syndication is for the 0.9x ones". You can post in RSS-DEV and make
their life harder (and more constructive) there by defending your
ideas if you want.

So can Aaron defend his ideas here.

These are public forums. When you post, everybody can read and reply.
That is the wonderful thing about these mailing lists.

I thought you liked that.

I hope we keep having room in this list for both Dave Winer's and
Aaron Swartz's point of views.

Relax and have fun,

Paulo Gaspar
