Well, I didn't say you were complaining although I thought it, so you must
be able to read my mind. ;->
And we are all newbies, that's cool, I forgot how useful that idea can be.
I'm totally happy to use Scripting News as a laboratory for this stuff. I
feel very comfortable with that, creating another XML feed that's neither
<scriptingNews> or RSS. Perhaps there will be some ideas in there that make
it into one or the other. That would be OK with me.
The remainder of this email is off-the-top-of-my-head.
One thing I'd like to have in this XMLization is an understanding of levels.
It's in my content. It's pretty much what you want. I don't see any need to
omit the lower-level content, as long as it's easy for an aggregator to see
the difference between low-level and high-level stuff. Also since leveling
is highly recursive, it wouldn't complicate the spec very much.
I also think that such a new format would have to allow for a subset of HTML
markup in the equivalent of <items>. It doesn't have to be rendered in HTML,
and the content would have to make sense if the HTML were stripped out.
