Today is my last day at Yahoo!, after five and a half years (yes, I got a gumball machine). It’s been a lot of fun and I wish all of the folks there that I’ve worked with over those years well; I’ve learned and done a lot, and Y! has given me a lot of room (both metaphorical as well as physical, given that for most of it, I’ve been more than 7,500 miles from my boss), which is much appreciated.
So, thanks.
I’ve accepted an offer from Rackspace, and am excited to help them build OpenStack, since at heart I’m an infrastructure nerd. More details will emerge I’m sure, but I expect to still be working on HTTP, REST, open standards, and more than a little Python (yay!). I’ll continue chairing and working on HTTPbis.
I already know a fair few “rackers”, and I’m already intrigued by the culture and the opportunities they have. And, I’m already a customer (have been for a while; this site, redbot.org and a few others run happily in their smallest cloud server).
